Canada’s Golden Day in Swimming, Maggie Mac Neil breaks world record, 15 Medals in World Swimming Championship in total with 7 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze.

Mac Neil, the Olympics champion in 100 meter butterfly, won the 50 meter backstroke Gold with a world record time on the penultimate day of competition in the World Swimming championship 2021 at Abu Dhabi. She finished ahead of Canadian team mate Kyle Masse. With this Mac Neill world record gold medal, The Canadian team in the pool on Monday recorded marvelous achievements of four medals (Including three Gold) in a day which was never before in the World events like Olympics or World Swimming Championships.

Mac Neil time of 25.27 seconds was 0.33 seconds faster than the previous record held by Kira Toussaint of Netherlands. Masse was 0.35 seconds behind from her teammate.
